Automated Donut
Machines
Automated donut making machines are manufactured to produce
a variety of donuts (Yeast and cake) in large volume - depending on the particular make and model. The donut
machines can produce 13doz/hour up to 56/doz/hour based on your business production needs.
The machines deposit, fry, turn, and dispense cake donuts,
yeast-raised donuts and mini donuts automatically. There are currently two manufactures within the US
manufacturing automated donut machines that can be found on Ebay for a fraction of the price of a new
unit.
A donut
business doesn’t have to be complex – it can be as simple as selling specialty donuts at local events. (I
personally enjoy selling donuts at gold prospector events – those folks love their donuts!) You may have other,
better ideas that are best for you, such as operating a concessions van on the weekends, selling only
mini-donuts utilizing a donut making machine. However you decide to approach the donut business, it’s a great
way to supplement your income or create a new business from scratch.

Buying Tips
When considering purchasing a used electric donut fryer
(including
auto-mated donut machines.).
1.
Make sure electric heating "coil" for fryer is easy to acquire
in the event heating element burns out. Heating elements
tends to burn out when needed most (this is especially important for donut machines if you out side the united
states.)
2.
Make sure existing electrical panel will support the additional
220-V load or you may have to install a sub-panel or purchase a Gas donut fryer.
3.
With all fryers (especially gas fryers) if purchased used
request a picture or visually check the under side "belly" of
fryer shortening well. If the fryer has been improperly fired up without shortening in well, "or shortening not
broken up prior to firing up" the insulation under the shortening well, will have burns or non existing
insulation on side walls of shortening well from improper usage.
And of course with all donut fryers make sure frying screens are available and glazing "transfer" screens are
the same size as frying screens, this makes for easy work in the shop and ideally your transfer screens are the
same size as donut "display" sheet pans for additional time saved in the
shop.
